O&A Adds Michael Scheppele to the Growing Venture and Corporate Law Firm for Technology and Content

Los Angeles, Calif. (June 4, 2018) — Dan Offner, Founder and Managing Partner at O&A, P.C., is pleased to announce that Michael Scheppele, an attorney with whom Offner previously worked at Loeb & Loeb LLP, has joined O&A as Of Counsel. Scheppele specializes in startups, interactive gaming, technology, licensing, privacy, intellectual property, and commercial and corporate transactions.

“Michael brings tremendous experience representing startup companies, having been through the startup experience firsthand as Director of Legal and Business Affairs for Sony’s Gaikai and now as the outside counsel for GoVyrl, Inc.,” Offner said. “I am thrilled to once again work with Michael and to welcome him onto the O&A team where he is sure to prove himself an asset to our startup clients.”

Scheppele graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Sports Management. He received his JD from Loyola Law School in 2006 where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, Order of the Coif. While at Loyola Law, Scheppele served as Research Assistant to Dean David W. Burcham and Senior Articles Editor to the Loyola Law Review, as well as participating as a member of the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society.

Scheppele began his legal career as an associate at corporate transactional firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP where he gained experience in mergers and acquisitions, securities, and corporate governance. In 2010, Scheppele joined technology, entertainment, and corporate transactional practice Loeb & Loeb as an associate where he first met Dan. Scheppele then joined Gaikai as Director of Legal and Business Affairs. Michael was with Gaikai from 2011 – 2017, beginning from its startup and continuing through its acquisition by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Most recently, Scheppele served as In-House Counsel for the Gaikai-powered PlayStation cloud game streaming service. Scheppele has brought his extensive startup knowledge and experience to his alma mater as Adjunct Professor at Loyola Law, teaching Business Planning I: Financing the Start-Up Business and Venture Capital Financing. Michael is currently outside counsel to GoVyrl.
