O&A client Coco, looking to lead robotic delivery market, raises $36 million

As its pink delivery robots – and competitors – are rolling out in a number of cities in Southern California, O&A, P.C., client Coco has bolstered its war chest with the completion of a $36 million Series A round.

“Working as commercial and privacy counsel to companies like Coco – companies with amazing people, practical ideas, and proven technology – is an honor, and we look forward to solving the corporate and commercial legal issues that come along with building the world’s first mass-market robotics company,” said Mike Borenstein, the O&A partner who leads O&A’s Commercial Transactions & Privacy Team.

Coco’s robots, which are remotely piloted by human “Coconauts,” deliver to customers within a couple miles of a merchant. Each robot is locked until it arrives at its destination, and a field team is ready to respond if there’s a problem along the way. O&A has worked extensively with the Coco team to make this business work legally for Coco and its customers.
