O&A, P.C. a transactional firm that handles IP and corporate transactions from formation to exit, today announced that Michael Borenstein has joined the firm as an Associate in the firm’s Technology and Corporate practice areas, effective March 2015.
Working directly with O&A, P.C.’s Founder Dan Offner, former General Counsel of OculusVR, Borenstein is a natural fit for the firm’s Technology and Corporate practice areas, having previously been Senior corporate Counsel at Silicon Valley-based company iPass prior to relocating to Los Angeles.
“We are delighted to have Michael join our team at O&A, because he brings substantial experience in two areas – technology and software licensing and corporate from his work at iPass – that represents two legs of our practice here at O&A. Michael’s experience as a senior lawyer in iPass’ legal department further deepens our strength and bench as a provider of outside general counsel services to clients as well,” said Dan Offner.
Michael Borenstein is a seasoned transactional attorney who has spent the last seven years guiding companies, both public and private, in a variety of in-house roles. Most recently, Mike spent the last three years with iPass Inc., a publicly traded Bay Area company in the enterprise mobility space. As Director, Legal, Mike acted as a primary legal contact within the organization. While Mike is a corporate generalist by trade, his practice has been primarily focused on technology transactions for the last few years.
“Having spent the last three plus years practicing law in the heart of Silicon Valley, I am excited to join a firm that is deeply involved with both startups as well as established technology companies. With O&A, Dan is assembling a team that will be uniquely poised to address the legal needs of Southern California’s rapidly expanding startup and technology community” said Borenstein.
Mike received his JD from Georgia State University, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board, and a BA in Political Science, cum laude, from the Honors Program at the University of Georgia. In his spare time, Mike enjoys skiing, reading and falling off surf boards.
