O&A Partner Jim Kidston becomes the GC of O&A Client Vidmob, while O&A adds Bernardo Ainza and Bjorn Roos as New Lawyers to its Growing Venture and Corporate Practice

The past few months have been a busy time at O&A P.C., with many changes to announce.

Recently, O&A partner, Jim Kidston, became the General Counsel of O&A client, VidMob, Inc. after he closed Vidmob’s Series B financing. We are sorry to see Jim go, but happy for him as he has now achieved his long term goal of being a general counsel for a successful venture backed company. We appreciate and thank Jim for all of his great work and contributions over the years, which have helped build O&A into what it is today.

On the heels of Jim’s departure, Bernardo Ainza has joined O&A P.C. as Senior Associate. Bernardo is an experienced corporate and venture lawyer, who as an associate at Orrick Herrington’s venture group represented numerous early stage and emerging growth companies on their startup, angel and venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance matters. Most recently Bernardo was a venture capital and M&A lawyer at Twentieth Century Fox where he worked on their strategic investments and M&A transactions in entertainment and technology. Prior to law school Bernardo also earned an MBA from the University of Southern California and worked in both finance and medical device sales. The firm is excited to have him and his expertise onboard.

On the addition of Bernardo to O&A’s expanding roster of attorneys, Founder and Managing Partner Dan Offner notes: “We are always looking for great corporate lawyers who understand both technology and content. We are very fortunate to find Bernardo, who is exactly that with both venture capital and mergers and acquisition experience in these areas in the Los Angeles emerging growth company ecosystem. We are also thrilled that Bernardo brings both private practice and inhouse experience as a lawyer, and has a business background with an MBA from USC.”

Bernardo adds “I am very excited to be joining Dan Offner’s team at O&A, P.C. Having worked with numerous startup companies over the last several years, I was very impressed by O&A’s Startup Program, and the technology and resources that O&A bring to its startup clients. Such startup resources and the law firm’s diverse client base were key factors in my decision to join O&A.”

Another recent addition to the team is Bjorn Roos, who has joined O&A as Junior Associate. Bjorn brings a litigation background to his corporate and commercial work for O&A’s clients. He received his J.D. from Loyola Law School Los Angeles and went on to work as an associate attorney at a consumer litigation law firm before joining O&A. At O&A, Bjorn’s commercial projects have included intellectual property licensing and confidentiality agreements, as well as drafting key agreements for the wide variety of companies in O&A’s Startup Program.

“Some of the best corporate lawyers that I know have worked on the litigation side of the law first and then become transactional lawyers. We see that potential in Bjorn and are delighted to have him join the team.” says Dan Offner about Bjorn’s joining the firm.
